# A flat-earther brought a spirit level on a plane to prove the Earth is flat. Yeah…

A Youtuber and conspiracy theorist from the US has taken pseudoscience to the next level — literally. He took a spirit level onto a plane, hoping to convince people that the Earth is flat.

This is the Earth. Some people believe it is flat.

That people still claim the Earth is flat is simply stunning to me. It’s not just watching ships sail off in the horizon or looking at constellations, we have gone into outer space and looked at the Earth. Heck, we have a massive research outpost, the International Space Station, constantly revolving around the planet and snapping photos. In this day and age, this level of ignorance is simply not allowed, even if you’re one of the greatest basketball players of all time. But back to our guy.

D Marble decided to take his spirit level to a plane. In case you’re not familiar with a spirit level, it’s an instrument designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal or whether it dips. It has a slightly curved vial incompletely filled with a liquid so that an air bubble remains. When the surface is completely flat, the bubble rests exactly in the middle.

A spirit level. Image via Wikipedia.

He thought this would show the Earth has no curvature and that it is essentially flat:

“I recorded a 23 minute and 45 seconds time-lapse, which by those measurements means the plane travelled a little over 203 miles. According to curvature math given to explain the globe model, this should have resulted in the compensation of 5 miles of curvature. As you’ll see there was no measurable compensation for curvature.”

It’s not just the flat Earth that he was trying to prove — he also took a jab at gravity…

“Understand that gravity is a still just a theory,” he goes on to say. “No more defending what we know to be true! Now we take the fight to the enemy! #FEOffensive.”

We’ll give him a lot of creativity points, but he scores a big fat zero on the science scale. Try to figure it out for a moment. You can come up with a number of valid arguments, ranging from middle school physics to simple, common sense.

For starters, the spirit level requires a lot of stillness for the bubble to align, which plane travel can’t really ensure. Twitter was quick to point this one out.

If you want a more elegant approach, you could say that even if (theoretically) the plane would have been perfectly still and moved in a perfect way, the experiment still couldn’t have worked because that’s not how gravity works — his entire premise of curvature compensation is flawed. Twitter was all over this one as well.

Lastly, for crying out loud, the man was traveling on a plane, you’d expect he’d at least look out the window.

This really sums up perfectly the anti-intellectual and anti-scientific trend so prevalent in the US and the world: a man using a plane (developed with science) uses an instrument (developed through science,) then shares his opinion on an Internet platform (made possible through science) from a device built through science, to share anti-scientific opinions. He uses a badly-devised experiment and can’t even understand basic principles but hey, people are buying it so why not?

His initiative was well-received by other flat-Earthers — which doesn’t even come as a surprise by this point.

Take a moment and think that in the 21st century, when we are sending shuttles to the Moon and to Mars, when we are toying with the genetic make-up of the human body, when we are zooming closer towards understanding the fabric of the Universe, people are saying the Earth is flat on Youtube. What a world we live in.

Here’s the whole video, already with over 200,000 views, having been shared by several flat Earth societies, including Flat Earth ActivismGod’s Flat Earth and various other globe-deniers. Yes, there are societies like these all around the globe (heh).

Why didnt you mention the 'science' that disproved his? I'm not taking either side, but whoever wrote this piece did not highlight anything that has substance. You just go off on the defensive and bullying without adding a hint of Science either.

2. Jameson

There is no science, that's why. All globe earthers can say is "because gravity." They should prove gravity. Just because something falls to the ground, doesn't mean there's gravity. That can happen in the flat earth model as well. Nice to see some people are at least keeping an open mind.

3. Benjamin Knotts

There are some interesting things that flat-earthers are pointing to.

You'd think that the flight paths would put the theory to rest but it just raises more questions.

Did you know that you can't get a flight from one southern continent to another without going north?
Also, all flights in the Southern Hemisphere have their gps turned off mid flight!! Also, I don't trust NASA

4. Mike

Well, the only way to explain gravitational acceleration with non-gravitational theory is to imagine there is an equal quantity of acceleration in the opposite direction. But in that case the accelerration of the same body on the different levels of height from Earths center (let's assume its got one) would be the same, while in reality it decreases (acceleration g~1/(r*r), where r is the height from Earths center). You can't deny (I hope) the empyrical evidence.
(P.S. I could have used any other proof of gravitation, but I chose the most simple one).

5. itfitzme

The problem is that his experiment and findings is so absurd that it defies any reasonable response. Here is a "for instance." I put it to you to prove that 2+2=4. You can't because it is fundamental. You take two things and two more things, put them in a pile and it is four things. The Earth is not flat because we can go around it. It's that simple and the author did point this out. "he International Space Station, constantly revolving around the planet and snapping photos. " That's it. It's is that simple.

We know the Earth is round because we can go around it. See how that works? They are the same root word, "round" and "a round"……

6. Jameson

How is this the most simple? "To imagine there is" = theory. Theoretically speaking, there is equal quantities of acceleration in the opposite direction which leads you to the answer to the equation you want. You're also assuming the Earth has a center, which we don't know. Empyrical means based on observation, this isn't based on observation, so I don't think you quite understand what that word means. You're welcome to try again, but you can't assume 2 things to come to a conclusion and call it science. That's not repeatable or measurable. You know?

7. Jameson

So you just call it bullshit without researching it? Because if you researched it, you would see that flights disappear then reappear from South America across the Atlantic to Africa. They hammered ball earth into our brains since we were practically in the womb, so it's going to take a TON of mental training to open your mind to the idea. But, to just call it bullshit and someone demented without looking at the evidence is just ignorant and quite frankly reckless. I'm willing to listen to any data or visual evidence you have if you'd like to have a real discussion.

8. Jameson

The ISS has never once turned their camera's around to show us Earth. The one time they claimed to all that was seen was a flash of light from the window and they said 'that was Earth!' They aren't up there. I'm not going to pretend I know all the answers, but we have never been to space. The moon landing was a hoax. There are also root words like horizon = horizontal and aeroplane = plane, so the root word thing doesn't prove anything either.

9. Airis Damon

This is troubling and funny at the same time. What a world we live in, indeed.

10. Frank

My brother-n-law suffers from this derangement. I point out the obvious flaws in the 'proof' of flat Earth, and get him turned around. He then goes home watches another video, and he's right back on the flat Earth confusion train. "As a dog returns to it's vomit, so shall a fool to his folly."

11. Benjamin Knotts

"Proclaiming themselves to be wise, they became fools."

Yea I laughed at this stuff for years but the one thing that really made me look into it was Neil Tyson and Bill Nye consistently coming out correcting people on the theory.
Why would celebrity scientists habitually keep coming back to an idea that's patently, laughably false?
Yet no criticism about Sasquatch, Loch Ness, or Aliens??
What makes this "crazy" idea so different??
Why give them any attention at all?

And why are there so many people falling for this theory, while the rest of us seem to mock them by insisting that there would be an edge to fall off of, when the flat earth theorists don't believe that there is such an edge?

There are some interesting FACTS (yes indeed!) in their camp that people are ignoring even if I'm not completely sold on the flat earth theory itself. Whether it's true or not, this stuff is still interesting.

12. Benjamin Knotts

Why don't you look into it and see where he's coming from to better understand his perspective?
NASA was started by nazis, so maybe he doesn't like believing their gospel.
Wernher Von Braun himself mentions the unbreachable firmament on his tombstone.
Or better yet, is it really that big of a deal what he thinks the earth looks like?

How awful would it be that someone who was deranged had a more accurate understanding of the world around you?

I have a couple quotes for you.

"The oracle said I alone was the wisest of all the Greeks, and it is because I alone, know that I know nothing."

"Proclaiming to be wise, they became fools."

13. Todd Danza

*"Did you know that you can't get a flight from one southern continent to another without going north?"*
Yes you can. Jakarta to Perth. Both in the Southern Hemisphere, each in its own continent, and no Northward travel.

Still, I get what you're saying, but I don't think you realize that it proves nothing. As flight paths take the shortest distance east to west, or vice versa, around the spherical earth, they will typically arc from South to North. It's just a product of the globe.

Granted, you might expect the same thing on a flat Earth, too, which is why I say it proves nothing either way, but the flat Earth still can't get around those flight distances.

14. Todd Danza

I don't know if you've noticed, but Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson have been outspoken about Sasquatch, Loch Ness and UFOs. They may not address them as often, because they're not trending topics, but if you talk to either one of them about Sasquatch, they'll probably both laugh you out of the room.

15. bill

I have sailed AROUND the world three times in a small yacht – I have piloted aircraft from Africa to Australia and South America to Africa as well as from North America to Africa and Europe to Asia (the bit SOUTH of the equator) and Oceania – I have NEVER had a problem with myself or my aircraft or vessel disappearing, nor has my GPS ever turned itself off (or been turned off mysteriously) regardless of where I have been flying or sailing.
I am also a former celestial navigation instructor who has been able to travel with pinpoint accuracy to points in both North and Southern hemispheres using measurements from celestial bodies which rotate AROUND our (roughly) circular globe. The fact that I – and many others – have done and continue to do this successfully is all the evidence that any rational person would need.

16. Alex Micu

Indeed. First we laughed — then we saw some of the comments and we're still sad.

17. Eugene

By name and in manner you are tied up in knots…You evidently missed all of you scientific schooling or didn't bother to turn up the day it was on!

18. Eugene

Don't mean to be unkind Benjamin but I don't think any amount of mental training will do you much good. Why would an entire group of people wish to deceive you? What do you reckon it is happening? Is it a way to control Earths population and the ignorant ones, the ones that don't believe the world is flat just fall off if they go too far in any given direction? Why hasn't anyone ever photographed the edge of the world? Let's discuss that for a moment eh? Not that it is going to generate many sensible answers but what the hey.

19. Aaron Hung

Eugene, what do you think gangs do when they sit around a dinner table? do they talk about Ken and Barbie? or maybe killing someone? What makes them different from people at the very top of the food chain in this world? Do you think they really really care about you and your family? You have lots of research if your mind is up to it and i'm not gonna do it for you. Let me give you this. Bill Gates's quote, David Rockefeller's quote, Georgia's guide stone. It's all about connecting the tiny dots. You're the one who asked the questions, I gave you something to start, now go and research yourself and disprove the quotes

20. Rolf Taylor

Because it is demonstrably incrorrect. Proving the absence of something is not possible. It isn't possible to prove there are no aliens, but it IS EASY TO Prove the earth is an oblate-spheroid.

21. Todd Danza

"…if you researched it, you would see that flights disappear then reappear from Souths America across the Atlantic to Africa."

"… it's going to take a TON of mental training to open your mind to the idea."
What, you mean like brainwashing? Because "mental training" sounds a lot like apologist speak for brainwashing.

"But, to just call it bullshit and someone demented without looking at the evidence is just ignorant"
Agreed. BTW, tell me again why gravity is BS.

I'd love to have a real discussion with you. Why don't we start simple with ships disappearing over the horizon. I know you're going to think that's an easy one, because you're probably prepared to give me the flat Earth text-book answer about how zooming in on the ship will bring it back, so let me save you the trouble.

The problem with this hypothesis is that it doesn't hold true when you zoom in on a ship and it STILL appears partially obscured by the horizon. In other words, it doesn't explain things like this:
https://crberryauthor.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/shiphorp.jpg

22. Todd Danza

*"The ISS has never once turned their camera's around to show us Earth. "*
what flat Earth nonsense site are you getting this from? The ISS live feed is trained on the Earth 24/7, and you can find thousands of photos and videos from other cameras on the space station.

23. Todd Danza

Jameson: "That can happen in the flat earth model as well."
Can it? What's the flat Earth explanation for why dense things fall down and buoyant things rise? Anything you can explain? hmmmmm?

24. Todd Danza

Wrong. "To imagine there is" = model.
And there's nothing at all wrong with a theory, especially one that has stood for centuries never having been disproven once.

"You're also assuming the Earth has a center, which we don't know."
Yes we do. There are a million ways to know but a simple one would be by recording and tracking seismic waves. repeatable, measurable and unlike anything in FE, it's accurate.

"you can't assume 2 things to come to a conclusion and call it science."
Perhaps true, but then why are you trying to pass off the non-existence of gravity with nothing to go on but assumption yourself?

25. Frank

The most obvious flaw is the flat Earth map itself. The perimeter of the ice wall would have to be far greater than the distance around the equator, which is roughly 24,000 miles. The flat Earth map makes the interior perimeter to be in excess of 60,000 miles. When ships sail around Antarctica, or the inside perimeter of the ice wall, they travel roughly 12,000 miles. The map just doesn't work.

26. Todd Danza

"NASA was started by nazis,"
None of the founders of NASA had anything to do with Nazis. Von Braun, just so you know wasn't a founder. Yes, he was an ex-Nazi. Big deal. A huge chunk of the Nazi party was comprised of people who didn't want anything to do with them, but didn't want the party to murder them or their families either.
Von Braun was brought in because of his skills in rocketry. The rest is water under the bridge.

"Wernher Von Braun himself mentions the unbreachable firmament on his tombstone."
He mentions Psalm 19:1. There's nothing in there about the firmament being unbreachable, and most Christian faiths have differing ideas about what the firmament is. To Von Braun, it was space.

"The oracle said I alone was the wisest of all the Greeks, and it is because I alone, know that I know nothing."
Doesn't sound like a flat-Earther to me. They're usually the only ones who aren't aware that they know nothing.

27. Mike

Speaking of the Greeks you mention, it was the Ancient Greek philosopher Eratosthenes who first calculated the circumference of the Earth in 240BC. But you know… I'm sure he was also in on the whole NASA/Nazi/government/scientific conspiracy theory. Right?

28. Frank

Trying to convince flat Earth/conspiracy theorists to change their views/minds is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

29. Benjamin Knotts

http://forward.com/culture/330940/the-true-story-of-how-nazis-invented-the-space-program/

Over a thousand nazi scientists were involved and their technology was the bulk of the space program. At about the same time, admitted Satanist Jack Parson's JPL was incorporated into the program, which began as a civilian operation but since then is now military. I don't care how you want to rationalize it.
And freemasonry is a central theme at NASA, you know, people that keep secrets.

The firmament is unbreachable because it certainly looks to be that way. No original photo of the earth that I've seen, except the one that NASA claims is real. There's water on the other side, at least that's what the Bible insinuates. I've seen dozens of rocket launches to space, and they always divert horizontally, never straight up.

Flat earthers have questions.
And ball earthers think they have it all figured out.

30. Benjamin Knotts

Mind control
Turn us into atheists believing humanity to be an accident, pure chance, and not being special.
Then people care more about themselves and what we have.

Does the motive really matter?
A motive doesn't change or prove anything.
If anything, a lack of a motive helps us think the way we want and keep our current way of thinking.

31. Benjamin Knotts

Then why feel the need to convince people of something you're so certain of?
Why not just let us believe what we want? What difference does it make to you that you feel the need to type 2 lengthy paragraphs?

Most people who are certain about something, don't care.

32. Benjamin Knotts

Tyson claims now that the earth is pear shaped, and looking at the NASA photos, somebody is lying. And I want to get to the bottom of it.

33. Benjamin Knotts

No, I prefer to find out what all the fuss is about.

Tyson claims now that the earth is pear shaped.

True story

I'd like to know why.

And you can insult me all day, but I usually sign my name..
"Benjamin C Knotts" so, I appreciate the opportunity to fill you in on that detail.

Perhaps there's a fun way to use that in this circumstance.

34. Benjamin Knotts

By all means, continue wasting your time on something you're so certain of that you feel the need to continue wasting your time.

35. Andrei Mihai

Benjamin, there is no fuss. There is no debate. We've known the Earth is (approximately) spherical since the Antiquity, we've taken tons of pictures of it from space, it's as established as it gets. That's why no one who even discusses a "flat Earth" can be taken seriously. It's as if you'd be saying that oceans aren't real, or Australia doesn't exist. I'm leaving a couple of links, in the slight hope that you and others with similar views will step out of the Dark Ages you have imposed on yourself.

36. Aaron Hung

You keep talking about 'we' who's we? You and your family? You've been out in space taking pictures? If I posted that Big Foot got married to a flying elephant on one of those sites. Would you believe me?

37. Frank

We're beyond supposition here. The actual distance around the Antarctica is 5 times less than required by the flat Earth map. The map is wrong.

38. Thomas Hart Sinclair

Look at it this way. If we ditch the globe paradigm, we will be rid of globalism. (!) Wouldn't *that* be worth it? As for this man's experiment, call me confused, but if an airplane can produce the thrust to get into the air in the first place — especially a jet — thus overcoming gravity, wouldn't said plane tend to overcome the gravity that allegedly holds it to the curve of the globe as it flies along? And do airplanes have gyroscopes aboard? To keep them flying in a straight line? Will someone please address these questions and refrain from barking and yowling about "muh science?" Thank you. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c658d18402e58ff1883f1789a81e20f510339164c03dc273e55122e50b825c42.jpg

39. Thomas Hart Sinclair

As a half-decent CGI artist, I could do a pretty good job of faking that "live feed" with software existing on my PC. Given NASA's huge budget, it's in the realm of the conceivable that they are faking. Have you ever watched Lord of the Rings, and similar? Child's play, if you've got the tech!

40. Don F.

Globe earthers result to name calling and bullying because they're loosing the debate. As soon as you bring up ships going over the horizon you've lost… Guess What?… if you pull out a telescope or zoom lens the ship comes back into full view. So how is that possible if the ship is going over the curve of the earth?

41. Todd Danza

Do you think you can CGI a planet Earth that's constantly consistent with all the weather conditions anywhere in the world at any given moment, 24/7?

42. Todd Danza

It's always been known that the Earth is slightly pear-shaped. I've known this since I was a teenager. What he means by "a little bit pear-shaped" isn't that it's literally shaped like a pear, just that it's slightly bigger in the Southern Hemisphere than the Norther Hemisphere, just like a person being "pear-shaped" doesn't mean they are literally shaped like a pear, it just mean that they retain more weight in the hips. Don't you see, "pear-shaped" isn an expression meaning "bigger on the bottom".

The point is that neither of them are lying. The Earth is indeed bigger on the bottom than the top, but only by a minuscule amount, which is why you can't tell in photos. Don't hyperbolize things that people say; that's intellectually dishonest.

43. Todd Danza

"Over a thousand nazi scientists were involved and their technology was the bulk of the space program."
Ex-Nazis. Again, most of which had no choice but to work for their Nazi-controlled government. NASA brought them in because they to offer to American innovation.

"And freemasonry is a central theme at NASA, you know, people that keeps secrets."
That's pure speculation.

"The firmament is unbreachable because it certainly looks to be that way."
No it doesn't. It looks like empty space with a whole bunch of distant specs of light. What about that looks unbreachable to you? What's more, even if it DID look unbreachable, that wouldn't be evidence that it was.

"No original photo of the earth that I've seen, except the one that NASA claims is real."
Do you mean the original Blue Marble? You're right. That one IS an original photo of Earth. Great observation.

"I've seen dozens of rocket launches to space, and they always divert horizontally, never straight up."
Of course. They have to achieve orbit. They can't do that by going straight up.

The flat Earther's do have questions, but only questions that meet their already established worldview. They don't ask questions about why density and buoyancy behave the way they do. They don't ask why water finds it's level or why it forms spheres when in free-fall. They don't ask why The sun doesn't set in Antarctica for half the year. They just settle for "it's density and buoyancy and that's all you need to know" and "water finds its level just because" and "The Antarctic midnight sun is a hoax" and call it good.

I'm pretty good at questioning. I question everything I hear, whether in favor or against the globe. But I only get answers from the globe.

44. Todd Danza

"How will you do that? Ask NASA?"
No, you just record the live feed, make note of the date and time, then check it with weather services in the parts of the world you see.
I, frankly, don't feel the need to go to that length myself, because I find the mountains of evidence of the globe impossible to dispute. But maybe some day, perhaps when I have time for that sort of thing. It might be a fun experiment.

"I suppose that you also believe in natural selection, dinosaurs, and the democrat party :-)"
Yes, yes, and no.

45. Todd Danza

Dude, that claim has been debunked to no end.
Take a look at this video and skip ahead to 20 seconds in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T874RMncnAQ
You can watch the camera zoom all the way in and not a bit of the ship becomes any more visible.

If you're zooming in on the ship and suddenly you can see the whole ship, then the ship simply hasn't reached the horizon yet. As a matter of fact, even when you are zoomed out you can see the whole ship. It just looks very, very small.

Zooming changes nothing. It's effectively as if you took a snapshot, cut out a small portion of it and enlarged it. None of the angles change, no positions change, nothing becomes visible that wasn't already there, it just gets bigger. The camera is still taking in all the same light from all the same angles and the picture is exactly the same.

46. Todd Danza

*"Turn us into atheists believing humanity to be an accident, pure chance, and not being special."*
Some are taking that tack, but it's hardly universal among scientists. I for one, don't think anything in science proves that we aren't special. I, for one, believe that we are so special to God that he spent the last 13.7 billion years building a universe, a solar system, and a planet that we could live on just so he could spend another few million years creating us.
Just because we're small compared to the universe or because everything that occurred to get us here appears to be by chance, doesn't mean that we aren't special to God. It just means he's brilliant about hiding his hand in his creations.

47. Thomas Hart Sinclair

If an experiment is not fun, you are doing it wrong :-)
Did you see the Lord of the Rings films, in which battles featuring "independent movement" of thousands of attacking Orcs were driven by very sophisticated AI to produce a realistic result. It's already been a few years, so the technology has surely been advanced. This ISIS live feed does look convincing, but using similar principles and technology — and given NASA's budget — data from weather reports world wide could be linked to an AI engine that would create your "live feed" on the fly. Why would such a thing be done? That might be FUN to think about. Meanwhile, notice that the live feed is a fairly recent development. No such evidence was offered earlier and going back to the first days of the space program, photos and vids have appeared to be cheesy-looking frauds. No doubt, it took a while to perfect and develop!

48. Todd Danza

Really? because you could try the same experiment on the original Blue Marble from 1972, as well as every photo of the Earth, or even parts of the Earth from that point on.
Also, how would they be able to update data for their AI engine BEFORE it gets reported? And how would they handle this in more remote areas, where there may not even be weather reports, and the recorded weather data doesn't come available till days later?
Even if it were theoretically possible, this hoax would require millions of people watching reports over every part of the world 24/7 and entering data. Such an effort alone would run waaaay over the 18 Billion a year NASA receives, and that doesn't even include the supposed faked videos, and the giant water tanks, and the hush money and the scientists' salaries, and the giant rockets that supposedly launch and crash into the sea, and the cgi of the Moon and the other planets, and the army of hired goons that supposedly patrol the "Ice Wall" to make sure nobody ever reaches the other side, etc., etc., etc.

49. Rolf Taylor

Rolf Taylor A
piece of string, a weight, and a protractor would be much more useful
for mapping uhhhh whatever they think they are mapping (e.g. deviation
of the plane from level flight).

50. Rolf Taylor

Here's one sure to blow some brain cells. Did you know a triangle can have three 90 degree angles? That lying bastard bastard Descarte! Actually Descarte was developing a "plane" geometry. Geometry of a sphere is quite different. Of course a sufficiently small portion of a sphere can be approximated using a plane!

51. Thomas Hart Sinclair

It doesn't seem wise to base your entire belief in the globe earth upon some johnny-come-lately video production. Does it? Aren't there some scientific facts or principles that could aid in your quest to promote this interesting, if wrong-headed spinning globe craze? Still, if you insist on it, I'll just answer that nobody is likely to check on even a few — not to mention all — of the various weather conditions in god-forsaken and primitive areas. Are they? Wouldn't it be a lot more boring than re-runs of "My Favorite Martin " or "The Brady Bunch?" Who could keep awake? Besides, isn't local weather developed from larger fronts and trends. That video feed is pretty nifty. Too bad something like it wasn't put together and released years ago. Unfortunately, this one recent flick, no matter how realistic, does very little to "prove" your globalist theory. As for patrol of the ice wall, happily for those tasked with that job, the Southern seas are wider, deeper, colder, and nastier than the Rio Grande. Very few people care to visit Antarctica. Those who do are mostly lacking boats, plane, equipment, and funds; the 'watchers' are certainly able to handle the exceptions. Wouldn't you say?

52. Todd Danza

"It doesn't seem wise to base your entire belief in the globe earth upon some johnny-come-lately video production. Does it?"
That's fine, because I haven't.

"Wouldn't it be a lot more boring than re-runs of 'My Favorite Martin ' or 'The Brady Bunch?' Who could keep awake?"
If your attention span is too short to do a little research, then maybe you're not cut out for this search-for-truth stuff.

"Besides, isn't local weather developed from larger fronts and trends."
No, that's what weather PREDICTIONS are developed from. Weather RECORDS are compiled at local recording stations that don't guess about the weather, they just record the weather as it comes.

"That video feed is pretty nifty. Too bad something like it wasn't put together and released years ago."
Um, I just finished saying that you can perform this experiment on the 1972 Blue Marble and every image of the Earth, or parts of the Earth from before and since that time. Yeah, they didn't always have that "nifty video feed". But they've always had things that you can check this to.

"As for patrol of the ice wall, happily for those tasked with that job, the Southern seas are wider, deeper, colder, and nastier than the Rio Grande. Very few people care to visit Antarctica. Those who do are mostly lacking boats, plane, equipment, and funds; the 'watchers' are certainly able to handle the exceptions. Wouldn't you say?"
Think about what you're saying in practical application for a minute. Whether there are a few or a lot of people trying to get into Antarctica is a moot point, because you STILL have to watch all 70,000+ miles (according to the flat Earth) of coastline, otherwise, those "few exceptions" are sure to get through.

And even if you did get caught, all you need to do is set up a live feed of yourself getting caught to prove that these patrols at least exist. Has anyone done it? Nope. The 'ice wall patrol' is pure speculation to this day.

Not only that, but bear in mind that you don't even have to get into Antarctica to prove the 'Ice Wall'. All you have to do is get NEAR Antarctica and send up a high altitude balloon or an independently-built rocket and start filming. But again, no one has tried this to my knowledge.

It shouldn't matter to you what we believe. Why not just regard us as insane and move on with your life.
You don't because part of you isn't sure.

Then it's not an oblate spheroid.
And the NASA photos show a perfect sphere. Someone is lying

There are scientists who publicly endorse evolution only because they wouldn't have a job anymore and not because they believe it.
There are plenty of well educated geocentrist scientists out there but there are even more who don't admit so publicly because it's professional suicide.

Most scientists who come out as geocentrists have their professional lives ruined, and it has everything to do with facts, because the facts are on their side.

These anti intellectual and science folks are just tired of hearing how sure we are of our "science". They can't understand it, they feel put down, so the deny it all.

Wouldn't we be better off ignoring them?
